Another reason why I chose this poem over all the others was because once I saw this poem, I fell in love with it! The way Spenser shows his utter most dearest affections for this women in a way I wouldn't of have thought to compose for another. Usually people have a hard time expressing their feelings for other but in this poem, it was just done perfectly. That Spensers' love for this woman was so intense that he believed she was spent from heaven and he wasn't any good for her. She deserved so much more than what he could offer.
It was really difficult for me to pick a favorite line, so my favorite stanza from this poem is,
"But since ye deign’d so goodly to relent
To me your thrall, in whom is little worth,
That little that I am shall all be spent
In setting your immortal praises forth;". I don't know why but I am seriously, absolutely in love with this stanza. This maybe the corniest thing I'll ever blogged but it just captures my soul! It is so amazing, I love it!
I'm able to relate to this poem is because I love all those sappy, lovey dovey types of things and that this poem was written so well. Also that I have cared for someone so much that I thought I wasn't good enough for him because he was just such an amazing person. I couldn't believe that I was with him and what I found hilarious was that he thought the same exact thing at the time. We had such wonderful times together, just lifting each other up to our highest potential and also gracing the heavens with our love.
well said.
